HFCCO
HFCCO is a KS / KEPCO type names (Korea) cable designation: HF = HF: halogen free; C = C: control cable (first letter of the control cable names CVV, CCV, CCE, HFCCO); C = C: cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation; O = O: low-toxic flame-retardant polyolefin sheath; HFCCO = HFCCO: 0.6/1 kV XLPE insulated control cable with a halogen-free flame-retardant polyolefin sheath. 0.6/1 kV (Taihan p.32). KS C IEC 60502-1.

Fire behaviour (EU CPR)
Halogen-free compound (HF, HFCCO). Under the CPR this shows in the additional classes: acidity a1 to a3 (EN 60754-2) and smoke s1 to s3 (EN 50399; s1a and s1b add the 3 m cube test EN 61034-2). The main class, Aca to Fca, depends on the whole construction.
Typically targeted, as declared by makers for this kind of construction in the examples this site checked (not the class of this cable):

Flame retardant (O, HFCCO). The single-cable test behind class Eca is EN 60332-1-2 (the flame stops within 425 mm). Bunched cables are tested by IEC 60332-3-24 category C (1.5 l/m, 20 min, char at most 2.5 m), which is not a CPR class test; the CPR ladder test for B1ca to Dca is EN 50399.
A CPR class is declared by the maker in its Declaration of Performance and printed on the sheath (EN 50575 cl 7). This decoder does not assign one. What the CPR classes mean →

HFCCO: equivalents in other countries
Shown for 4x1.5 0.6/1 kV. Each country's rules are applied to this build, keeping the conductor, section, cores, voltage, screen, armour and sheath.
| Country | Standard | Name in that country | Verdict | Differences |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Germany | HD 603 5-G (DIN VDE 0276-603) | N2XH 4x1,5 RE 0,6/1 kV | Equivalent | every value the same |
| India | IS 7098 (Part 1) | no letters for this build | Close | rated 0.635/1.1 kV (same Um 1.2 kV); Inner covering / bedding 1 → 0.3 mm; Overall diameter 12.32 → 10.92 mm |
No equivalent in: BS 5467 (armoured cables only, asks another sheath compound); BS 6724 (armoured cables only); BS 7846 (armoured cables only).
Nominal values computed by each standard's rules, not manufacturer data. This is not a statement that two cables are interchangeable: the buyer's specification and the maker's type test decide.
HFCCO as the cable designer builds it, 4x1.5 0.6/1 kV
Overall diameter 12.3 mm, about 200 kg/km. Nominal values from the standard's tables for this size, computed, not a maker's data.
| Layer | Material | Thickness, mm | Over the layer, mm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Insulation | XLPE | 0.70 | 2.8 |
| Filler | PP | 6.7 | |
| Inner covering / bedding | Halogen-free (LSZH) | 1.0 | 8.7 |
| Sheath | Halogen-free (LSZH) | 1.8 | 12.3 |
HFCCO on a drum
The smallest drum that passes every check, for 12.3 mm and about 200 kg/km as the cable designer builds it. Drums as their makers print them; lengths are estimates within a few per cent of the cable makers' own tables: whole layers, wound diameter 1.05 × OD, 50 mm freeboard under the flange rim.
| Length | Drum size (its makers) | Layers | Gross weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 m | KTG 8 (800 mm flange), wood KTG drums (Europe), Bayka, KTG | 11 of 11 | 131–135 kg |
| 1,000 m | KTG 9 (900 mm flange), wood KTG drums (Europe), Bayka, KTG | 13 of 13 | 247–251 kg |
Barrel at least 15 × OD = 185 mm for a cable of this kind (Low voltage, multi-core): KTG table, the cable's datasheet wins. A load rating is the drum maker's own.

HFCCO belongs to the family LV XLPE power cables: the lowest laying temperature, bending radius, pulling, depth, drum handling and the test after laying, every rule with its sources. Laying and handling guide: LV XLPE power cables
