Sponsorship terms

What you buy

A sponsorship placement: the slot, target (a material, cable family, layer or coding system), region and billing period you chose in the order form. It shows to visitors in that region (Global: everywhere) for as long as the sponsorship is paid.

Placements marked exclusive have one owner per target and region. A target that is already owned cannot be bought for the same region until it is free again.

Every sponsored element is labelled "Sponsored". A sponsorship never changes a decoding, a symbol meaning or the order of the results.

Payment, renewal and cancelling

Payment is taken by our payment provider (Creem), which also issues the receipt and handles tax. Its own terms apply to the payment.

Monthly and yearly sponsorships renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. Founding-sponsor prices apply for the months stated on the advertise page; after that the regular price applies.

You can cancel at any time: through the link in the payment provider's receipt email, or by writing to us through the feedback form at the bottom of any page. The sponsorship then runs to the end of the period already paid and is not renewed. Periods already started are not refunded, except as stated below.

Your content

Your logo, banner, text and link must relate to cables, wiring or the electrical trade, be truthful, make no claims you cannot back up, and lead to a working page that matches what the sponsorship says.

Not allowed: misleading or comparative claims about other companies, content that is unlawful, offensive or adult, political messages, and links to pages that install software, collect personal data under false pretences or ask for payment details unrelated to your products.

You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, every logo, trademark, image and text you upload, and that using them on this site infringes nobody's rights. You allow us to show them on the site and its preview pages for the period of the sponsorship.

Going live and taking down

Your sponsorship goes live as soon as the payment provider confirms payment; there is no approval step before that.

We take down a sponsorship that breaks these terms. If it is taken down for content reasons, we refund the current period. If someone credibly claims that your content infringes their rights, we may take it down while the claim is checked.

To change your logo, text or link during a paid period, write to us through the feedback form.

Statistics and visitors

Views and clicks are counted on our own server, anonymously, without tracking cookies. The visitor's region comes from their country, not from a profile.

We do not guarantee a number of views, clicks or sales. The site may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or outside causes.

Liability and changes

Our liability for a sponsorship is limited to the amount you paid for it in the last twelve months.

We may update these terms; the version you accepted applies to the period you paid for, and a new version applies from your next renewal. The version number is shown at the top of this page.
