XHHW-2 este o simbolizare de cablu conform NEC / UL (USA): X = Thermoset (cross-linked polyethylene) insulation; HH = High heat resistant, 90 C; W = Approved for wet locations; -2 = 90 C in both wet and dry locations; XHHW-2 = Thermoset (XLPE) high heat-resistant building wire, 90 C wet or dry. 600 V, 90 C wet and dry. UL 44; NEC Article 310.
