Project requirements · Application
RoHS and REACH compliance
Materials meet EU restricted substance rules (lead, cadmium, some phthalates) and REACH SVHC declarations.

Constructions that meet it
- RoHS-compliant compounds: changes no layer: a property of the sheath compound. Lead-free stabilisers and plasticisers in PVC, or halogen-free compounds (RoHS compliant compounds). Drawbacks: A lead sheath (see lead-sheath) can conflict with a RoHS clause; check the scope per project.

Tests
- EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS): substance limits, declaration. Pass: maker declaration (Lapp states compliance)
- Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH): SVHC declaration. Pass: not found in the sheets read
How specifications state it
A compliance declaration, not a cable test; clashes with lead sheaths and some PVC plasticisers.
Where it is asked for
- EU market
- OEM and machine builders
