TFR-CVVS

TFR-CVVS is a KS / KEPCO type names (Korea) cable designation: TFR- = TFR-: tray flame retardant, a high flame-retardant PVC sheath for cable trays; C = C: control cable (first letter of the control cable names CVV, CCV, CCE, HFCCO); V = V: PVC insulation; V = V: PVC (vinyl) sheath; S = S: copper tape shield over the laid-up cores; TFR-CVVS = TFR-CVVS: CVVS with a tray flame-retardant PVC sheath. 0.6/1 kV (Taihan p.36). KS C IEC 60502-1.

Fire behaviour (EU CPR)

  • Flame retardant (TFR-, TFR-CVVS). The single-cable test behind class Eca is EN 60332-1-2 (the flame stops within 425 mm). Bunched cables are tested by IEC 60332-3-24 category C (1.5 l/m, 20 min, char at most 2.5 m), which is not a CPR class test; the CPR ladder test for B1ca to Dca is EN 50399.

  • PVC sheath (TFR-, V, TFR-CVVS).

Typically targeted, as declared by makers for this kind of construction in the examples this site checked (not the class of this cable):

Listed as sources, alphabetically by maker. No maker pays to appear here.

A CPR class is declared by the maker in its Declaration of Performance and printed on the sheath (EN 50575 cl 7). This decoder does not assign one. What the CPR classes mean →

TFR-CVVS on a drum

The smallest drum that passes every check, for 13.2 mm and about 250 kg/km as the cable designer builds it. Drums as their makers print them; lengths are estimates within a few per cent of the cable makers' own tables: whole layers, wound diameter 1.05 × OD, 50 mm freeboard under the flange rim.

LengthDrum size (its makers)LayersGross weight
500 mKTG 9 (900 mm flange), wood KTG drums (Europe), Bayka, KTG8 of 12172–176 kg
1,000 mKTG 10 (1000 mm flange), wood KTG drums (Europe), Bayka, KTG12 of 14321–328 kg

Barrel at least 15 × OD = 198 mm for a cable of this kind (Low voltage, multi-core): KTG table, the cable's datasheet wins. A load rating is the drum maker's own.

Laying, sizes and datasheet: TFR-CVVS

TFR-CVVS belongs to the family LV PVC power cables: the lowest laying temperature, bending radius, pulling, depth, drum handling and the test after laying, every rule with its sources. Laying and handling guide: LV PVC power cables
