TPS

TPS is a AS/NZS (Australia, New Zealand) cable designation: TPS = Thermoplastic sheathed: flat building cable, the cores and the earth side by side in a PVC sheath (twin and earth); TPS = TPS: flat building cable, two or three V-90 PVC-insulated copper cores and a green/yellow earth side by side in a PVC sheath (twin and earth). 450/750 V; V-90 insulation, 90 C PVC sheath (Olex). AS/NZS 5000.2; AS/NZS 1125 (conductors).

Fire behaviour (EU CPR)

A CPR class is declared by the maker in its Declaration of Performance and printed on the sheath (EN 50575 cl 7). This decoder does not assign one. What the CPR classes mean →

TPS on a drum

The smallest drum that passes every check, for 12.1 mm and about 140 kg/km as the cable designer builds it. Drums as their makers print them; lengths are estimates within a few per cent of the cable makers' own tables: whole layers, wound diameter 1.05 × OD, 50 mm freeboard under the flange rim.

LengthDrum size (its makers)LayersGross weight
500 mKTG 8 (800 mm flange), wood KTG drums (Europe), Bayka, KTG10 of 11101–105 kg
1,000 mKTG 9 (900 mm flange), wood KTG drums (Europe), Bayka, KTG13 of 13187–191 kg

Barrel at least 15 × OD = 181 mm for a cable of this kind (Low voltage, multi-core): KTG table, the cable's datasheet wins. A load rating is the drum maker's own.

Load it on a truck: 1000 m on its drum in the loading planner

Laying, sizes and datasheet: TPS

Its sizes are in AWG and kcmil, which are not the same as the nearest mm²: compare them by area and by resistance. AWG to mm²
