FRLS
FRLS is a BIS type names (India) cable designation: FR = Flame Retardant; LS = Low Smoke Low Halogen Pvc; FRLS = FRLS / FR-LSH house wire: one copper conductor, flame-retardant PVC insulation with reduced smoke and acid gas emission. Up to and including 1100 V; -15 to +70 C (RR Kabel, Polycab). IS 694:2010 (cable code cl. 13); insulation IS 5831; conductor IS 8130.

Fire behaviour (EU CPR)
Low-smoke compound (LS). Smoke is graded s1 to s3 on the EN 50399 ladder; s1a and s1b add the 3 m cube test EN 61034-2.
Flame retardant (FR, FRLS). The single-cable test behind class Eca is EN 60332-1-2 (the flame stops within 425 mm). Bunched cables are tested by IEC 60332-3-24 category C (1.5 l/m, 20 min, char at most 2.5 m), which is not a CPR class test; the CPR ladder test for B1ca to Dca is EN 50399.
A CPR class is declared by the maker in its Declaration of Performance and printed on the sheath (EN 50575 cl 7). This decoder does not assign one. What the CPR classes mean →

FRLS as the cable designer builds it, 1x1.5 1100 V
Overall diameter 2.7 mm, about 20 kg/km. Nominal values from the standard's tables for this size, computed, not a maker's data.
| Layer | Material | Thickness, mm | Over the layer, mm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Insulation | PVC | 0.60 | 2.7 |
FRLS on a drum
The smallest drum that passes every check, for 2.7 mm and about 20 kg/km as the cable designer builds it. Drums as their makers print them; lengths are estimates within a few per cent of the cable makers' own tables: whole layers, wound diameter 1.05 × OD, 50 mm freeboard under the flange rim.
| Length | Drum size (its makers) | Layers | Gross weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 m | KTG 3 (390 mm flange), plastic KTG drums (Europe), KTG | 8 of 28 | 12 kg |
| 1,000 m | KTG 3 (390 mm flange), plastic KTG drums (Europe), KTG | 14 of 28 | 22 kg |
Barrel at least 12 × OD = 33 mm for a cable of this kind (Flexible cable (class 5 or 6 conductor)): KTG table, the cable's datasheet wins. A load rating is the drum maker's own.
