Cat 6A U/FTP
Cat 6A U/FTP is a ISO/IEC 11801 · TIA-568 (LAN) cable designation: CAT 6A = Category 6A: up to 500 MHz, 10 Gbit/s over 100 m; ISO/IEC 11801 class EA; U/FTP = U/FTP: no overall screen, each pair in foil; 4P = 4 twisted pairs (usual count), solid copper (installation); PE = Foamed polyethylene insulation.

Cat 6A U/FTP as the cable designer builds it, Cat 6A U/FTP 4x2xAWG23
Overall diameter 7.5 mm, about 50 kg/km. Nominal values from the standard's tables for this size, computed, not a maker's data.
| Layer | Material | Thickness, mm | Over the layer, mm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Insulation | PE | 0.40 | 1.4 |
| Tape screen | Aluminium | 0.05 | 2.8 |
| Sheath | Halogen-free (LSZH) | 0.30 | 7.5 |
Cat 6A U/FTP on a drum
The smallest drum that passes every check, for 7.5 mm and about 50 kg/km as the cable designer builds it. Drums as their makers print them; lengths are estimates within a few per cent of the cable makers' own tables: whole layers, wound diameter 1.05 × OD, 50 mm freeboard under the flange rim.
| Length | Drum size (its makers) | Layers | Gross weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 m | KTG 5 (500 mm flange), plastic KTG drums (Europe), Bayka, KTG | 13 of 15 | 28–29 kg |
| 1,000 m | KTG 7 (710 mm flange), wood KTG drums (Europe), Bayka, KTG | 14 of 16 | 75–78 kg |
Barrel at least 20 × OD = 149 mm for a cable of this kind (Telecom, data and control cable): KTG table, the cable's datasheet wins. A load rating is the drum maker's own.

Laying, sizes and datasheet: Cat 6A U/FTP
Cat 6A U/FTP belongs to the family LAN data cables: the lowest laying temperature, bending radius, pulling, depth, drum handling and the test after laying, every rule with its sources. Laying and handling guide: LAN data cables
